Great little city, Orange City.<br /><br />As you know, I have 2 girls (5 and 3) and never once thought about locking them in the car while I return a cart. If I was in anonymous' shoes, I'd lock my purse in the car and carry my kid before doing the opposite. Sometimes being a parent requires some "hassle."<br /><br />Great article. I find myself at marching shows looking at the presentation with a critical eye also. I'm not versed in the ins and outs of marching, but can certainly tell when a show or segment of a show isn't "finished."Dirk DeYoungnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2333430080820043176.post-37457738445257755782011-10-16T17:42:48.416-05:002011-10-16T17:42:48.416-05:00You know, it is always nice to hear it from a diff...You know, it is always nice to hear it from a different perspective than my own. I don't have kids, so I never thought about the challenge balancing all the responsibilities incurs. Usally the cart stands are few and far between. If a mother with a young child is shopping, either she has to leave the child unattended in the car to go put away the basket or leave the cart somewhere close to the car to keep an eye on her child. I suppose she could drive the cart with child to the stand and then lug the child and purse, etc back to the car but that kind of defeats the purpose of the cart and ease of shopping. So for a while I was one of those who would leave the cart by the car. (I tried to fix it so it wouldn't blow into any cars or block a parking spot.) Nowadays, I make sure I've got my keys with me as I lock the doors on my 8year old and then I push the cart into the basket holder, keeping my vehicle in sight at all times.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
